If reliability is your forte, I'd avoid all Rover models. The K-series engine is notorious for their porous cylinder heads and blocks. If you MUST have a Rover, go for the Honda-engined Rover 600. It's actually a re-badged Honda Accord, so reliable. |

aoaomotayo: No Rover 214 / 216 left the factory with a Honda engine. All were Rover K-series. |

For your budget, and ease of service / repairs, I'd go for a 2000 Honda Accord. Also, the Honda Accord is the closest you'll get to a Rover, but without the Rover's inherent reliability issues. |
