Before buying your flight tickets, booking a Hotels in Ghana
, make sure you have all necessities or ensure you will be able to get it once you arrive in Ghana.
Visa and Passport Information
Getting a Visa for this visit depends on your Nationality; most countries in West Africa are on the Visa Exemption List. Get online and view the list of Nationals who do not need a Visa to enter Ghana. It is very Important that start with your application once you’ve made up your mind about traveling and make sure your Visa does not expire while there.
You can apply for and get a Ghana visa from your nearest Ghanaian embassy or consulate.
Ensure you have a current and Valid Passport, with an extended expiration date. Always make sure, your passport would not expire four months before the end your trip. It is advisable to make several Photocopies of your passport and Visa. This is a safety precaution, should you lose your passport or Visa.
Whenever you travel with your original passport, always keep it locked, in a hotel safe or other secure location.
Before you leave for Ghana, make sure you tick off the following Documents:
Visa (if required)
Arrival Ticket
Valid Passport
Return Ticket
Health advice for Ghana
Before traveling to Ghana, make sure that you get immunized for possible infections. It is also important to protect yourself from mosquito bites, which could lead to malaria. It is best to wear long sleeved shirts/blouses and long pants, remember to get a mosquito repellent and mosquito nets. If you will be traveling to West Africa it is advisable to travel with Malaria prescription.

What to pack for your Ghana travel?
Remember that Ghana is tropical area. The weather varies from being dry, dusty, and wet, hot and/or cold weather. When packing you need to take caution as Ghana often exhibits unpredictable weather patterns.
From January- March: Ghana is hot and dry. Light dressing would be best.
March-June: The country experiences long rains, with warm conditions. Pick warm clothing.
June-mid October: Mildly warm. Pack a mix of light and warm clothing
Mid-October-December: Long rains. Ghana is fairly cold and wet. Pack warm clothes.
In the rural areas, there still exist prejudice towards women dressing in excessively short dresses, skirts and pants
