It is a natural event for your body to change dramatically after carrying a baby for nine months and finally giving birth. During pregnancy, your abdominal muscles got stretched to the limit so that your growing bump could be accommodated. And you also added an extra weight as nature has laid it down due to the fact that you would breastfeed your baby and possibly, because you ate more comfortably during pregnancy. Also, the breast swell during pregnancy and breastfeeding, which makes ligaments and tissues to be stretched and your boobs to become saggier.

So, for you to return to shape after pregnancy, there are certain things you can do on your own. First, take note that dieting is not easy and is not good, especially if you are breastfeeding. Below are some of the tips you can follow if you want to return to shape after pregnancy.

Patience is key
It is important to be very patient in returning to shape after giving birth. Most women try to lose body weight immediately after giving birth, which should not be so. You need to give yourself some time. It is also important that the body gets back to pre-pregnancy hormone levels, blood levels and water volume levels before you try to start exercise or restricting calories. And this can take up to twelve weeks.

Exercise after birth
Make sure your baby is six weeks old and your doctor has released you from care before you begin to exercise. You can then start your exercises at pre-pregnancy levels. Before this time, the only exercise you should do are the ones you've been doing before you gave birth.

Always have a good night's rest
A good night's rest helps you to reduce depression and increase your daily energy levels. When you feel better, you can deal better with weight loss.

Eat more of the right food
Make sure you eat more of vegetables, fruits and whole grains. These are foods that can help you when trying to lose weight.

In a nutshell, to get back to your pre-pregnancy shape, it is important that you bear in mind, these three things: a good diet, relaxation and gentle exercise.
