I need to order an SUV to contend with the rough terrain in my location but I am finding it difficult to make a choice between 2000 Pathfinder and 99/2001 Montero. Montero is cheaper when compared to Pathfinder but I do not have sufficient information regarding to its durability, cost of maintenance and Fuel economy.

I will appreciate any input from any nairalander who can advice me better.

Durability wise, i might give top honor to Montero (just judging from its days as winner of Dakar Rally etc). But its not like its too far ahead of a pathy. However, a pathy wins in maintenance, fuel consumption and availability of parts in my opinion.

For my $$$$, pathfinder all the way.

Thanks Kunle for your input. The two cars are very common in Nija. I dont think availability of parts will be a major issue (not very sure anyway).

I'll go for Pathfinder. It's more rugged and sporty.

I am skeptical about M itsubishis. Most Mitsubishis I see on the road emits blue smoke in motion. I'll prefer Pathfinder to mitsu even though its more expensive than mitsu.
