1 John 1:7-9 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

sinner: someone who has done something wrong according to religious or moral law.

If so how then do you reconcile these verses? undecided

"He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8 ).

No!
What @elosky20 said is the REAL. That's why I tell people that we are not sinner because we commit sin but because of what adam did.

That's why Jesus needed to come to set us free from the nature of sinful adam.

So whosoever that believes in christ's finished work will be made a new creature by faith and your old nature will be passed away and everything will be made new.

See the main truth; we are all sinners by law(flesh; so far you are a human being) even after accepting christ, not just because we commit sin but because of our imperfection, but we are made HOLY, PERFECT and RIGHTEOUS AS GOD IS, by the grace(faith) of God through our faith(ONLY BELIEVING) we have in christ.

But, inspite of our imperfection and sin, it is not imputted on us because we are under grace. In fact, the sole purpose of grace is to justify our imperfections. That's why in romans 4/5, paul said; when there is no law sin is not imputted on a man.

You see the reason why grace is a GIFT? But, it's so unfortunate that so many pharisee-christians try their possible best to earn what has been freely given(eternal life). They are ignorant of God's righteousness, going about establishing THEIR OWN righteousness, making eternal life look like reward

Note; we are not righteous because we live rightly, though right living is one of it's fruits, but because we believe in christ who was offered as a ransom for our redemption which is of faith

The problem why I see some christians the way I see the pharisee is that they always deny the truth of their imperfection in flesh, saying they are living rightly always, which we all know is lies from the pit of hell because we, as the humans we are, lack the ability to always stay away from wrong and cling to the right thing always. But thanks for grace!

Please note; holyspirit does not make your flesh perfect, because as paul said; there is no good in our flesh. But the holyspirit makes you perfect, holy and righteous before God, NOT BY FLESH, but by grace and faith, which atimes reciprocally affect the way we live with people around us.

who is the ruler of the world.
That depends on which perspective you are judging from.
To answer this question, you have to take a stand. If you Stand from the perspective of man and climb to God, then you'll conclude that Satan is ruling the world.
But when you stand from God's perspective, according what is recorded in the Bible, you'll find out that everything happening is unfolding God's plan and agenda for Earth.
Satan is working tirelessly to bring to fulfillment God's agenda, for earth .

Op, this is a good question cool

God is holy. And it's impossible, in this world to be perfect. That is why we crucify our flesh daily. That means submission to the Spirit of God, which continually makes way for us in our day to day lives. The coming age is going to be sinless though, it will be a dispensation of righteousness - because the devil will be bound during its time.

The world is under the sway of the wicked one. This is not just a saying. It's a fact. It's in reference to the principalities, rulers and powers of the heavenly realm. The same power we wrestle against continually in our lives. Be it in our mind, environment, etc. They are the angels of sin, in our past ages and in this age.

When Abraham was called out and given the lands of the Amorites, he had to live among them for a long time as he grew from an individual to a nation that would later conquer the Amorites. It is the same for the principalities of this world. We are a Kingdom growing right in the presence of the Principalities that we shall conquer and take over. That should help you understand why Christians are the most hated group on the face of the earth. Our very presence is their destruction and disinheritance. It's for that reason that Christ said;

Mathew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Only a christian can commit sin.

Is homosexuality a crime here in the UK? No! It is no crime here

Is homosexuality a crime over there in Nigeria? Yes it is a jail-able crime there.

Spot the difference OP?

A none christian is free from Sin since they are not affiliated to that form of lifestyle/belief

Being a sinner is by nature. Christians are carrying new nature by the resurrected Christ. We are dead to sin nature through the body of Christ and alive to the resurrected Christ. We're not a sinner because we sin, we're sinners because of the Adamic sin nature which was reversed in Christ.

I That's a pity (refering to your photo on legislation of religious beliefs) because then, the coming age will not accommodate you. Only the righteous will enter it. Start practising being bound with your likes for its entire duration.

What did God mean when He told Abram to walk before Him and to be perfect?

I believe, He meant our becoming one with God. You see even He did not like to be called good while here on earth. But the fact that He/us and God are inseparable makes us able to boast in God's characters. Some of those Characters is that He is perfect in love, joy, peace, patience, holiness, all things that we being in flesh grow into gradually. But one day, when we will not be in flesh, we'll be perfected.

Will you then say that satan is the ruler of this world? undecided
Yes. But of course God sits above and rules over all including his principalities.

What did God mean when He told Abram to walk before Him and to be perfect?

That was a tall order in those days. But there seems to have bren greater understanding of spiritual things than now. He expected Abraham to walk in/be directed by His spirit. The presense of His Spirit justifies us enough for us to stand righteous before Him.

OLAADEGBU:

Are you saying that we cannot be 'perfected' here on earth?
We are getting continually perfected, growing from glory tho glory, from faith to faith, hence;

2 Corinthians 7:1 |
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

This cleansing is continual. A serious Christian should always be learning and growing.

It's impossible to be perfect and the flesh remain. That death that still follows us, that has turned the earth into a shell, that is imperfection in itself. It is a limitation, and perfection is operation at the highest level of holiness and power.

Has Christ's death and resurrection not set us free from satan's grip? If so, how is he still our ruler?

He is a ruler of darkness. The power at work in the sons of disobedience.

He (Christ) has indeed translated us from the kingdom of darkness (the rulers, powers and principalities of this world) to His Kingdom (of righteosness. But we are still in this world. The reign of powers of the earth remains with the Kingdom of darkness, until the end of this age when as prophesied by Daniel 7,8 and 11, Revelation , and basically all the prophets, Christ shall take the thrones away and give them to the saints, to rule in righteousness.

That is why the world is a mess.

Rev 19:19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

These are the powers that the devil tempted Christ with, that they were given to him and he could give them to whoever he wished. It's a bit complicated with regard to their relationship with Christians. But don't forget that our God is still king above the powers, and commands them too as His host, so they are harmless to the sons of light, but they accuse them before God continually upon their platform continually.

This is a near future event;

Dan 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Not to say Christ is not a ruler now. He is over all principalities, including those of darkness....
Because they are powers of men.

Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

His sitting above the powers is as their ruler. Sounds strange, that He is not putting an end to their evil. He will, but we are talking of people's here, over which these powers have a hold, and Christ came for salvation of men. And there is a Son who already has his inheritance, and is spending it on whoredom,

We wrestle against the rulers, powers and principalities of this world. They are actual powers with a mandate, and territory, and do give an account before God.

Are you saying that what God expects from us is less than what God expected from Abram? undecided

Was Abram perfect? In God's ways? In all works? It's impossible, unless by faith when the perfection is imputed as opposed to attained. Once you attain perfection, you'll just get caught up in heaven like Enoch.

But I must add the perfection that comes by being imputed on us is by virtue of God's grace covering us to the extent that our imperfections are hidden. That's how this comes true

Matthew 5:48 |
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

That imputed perfection is the closest thing we can come to perfection. But is in reference to the God in us. So if I have God, then I'm perfect like Him because we are one spirit. But even then, His perfection is working on mine. ..to make me perfect.
