How about we do it at a table
Over tea, coffee, water or anything
How about discussing shared prosperity and common growth
How about we stop outdoing one another
How about we stop playing catch up on ammunition

Somewhere else to channel the energy
All the negative energy hovering around
What if religion was so comical, it never draws blood
What if boys grow food and not carry arms?
What if leaders give in more than they can ever take?

I stay in my sack, cowered into believing I’m alone
The wickedness of the world echoes deep
The realities of Northern Nigeria, Syria and Palestine
The adrenaline of the gun-wielding teenage boy
The infidel hunting brain-washed junkie

The racist, the bigot, the tribalist
The time-bomb who can’t see beyond his nose
The lousy one who doesn’t belief 7 billion should be diverse
The conscious one who doesn’t see we are created equal
How does one leave this sack? The only known protection!

We are tired of making holes in the sack
Peeping to see who is smiling or holding a gun
Weary of building walls and lighting fires
Tired of asking leaders to lead
We simply want our world back.
