[b]A man who was officially attached to the residence of Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido has been arrested for stealing from the governor’s bed room.

The incident, sources hinted the Daily Trust, occurred Saturday night. The suspect was said to have been caught by one Alhji Nuhu, a government official attached to the governor’s residence after he (the suspect) succeeded in completing the act. Confirming the incident, the governor’s Director of Press, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Jibril said the person involved was in security net, adding; “I don’t know whether the guy is an official or civil servant”.

Muhammad Sani Jibril said only an investigation could reveal the true picture of the case. The suspect is currently under investigation by SSS officials at the SSS Command in Jigawa.

Though the governor’s spokesman did not disclose what the suspect stole, sources at the Government House hinted that it may not be unconnected with money.

Following the development, security was beefed up as the stop and search method has been adopted by the security men at the gate. Additional mobile policemen were deployed to the State House.

In a related development, two drivers attached to the Jigawa State House were equally arrested by the police following their involvement in the stealing of diesel meant for running government vehicles and power generating sets.

Investigations by our reporter indicated that the suspects were in police net. When contacted, the police public relations officer, Abdul Jinjiri said he was not briefed on the issue.[/b]
