Facebook and Twitter are just too different platforms with different functionalities.

Facebook is strictly a social network meant for mostly personal and business activities.

Twitter is a microblogging platform, though also meant for personal and business activities.

Someone said twitter is active due to the trending tags, this is just because Facebook doesn't focus more on that. And before a tag will trend on twitter, trust me, more people would have already said something related to that on their Facebook status.

Ask 10 random people if they are on either platform, more people will answer Facebook compared to Twitter. An average primary school student would first think of opening a Fb account before Twitter.

Just making these points so things can be clear, Twitter might look more active due from the outside view, take a deeper look at Facebook, u will see more activities.

So with these, I say, Facebook is more active.
