The country is suffering because a large number of laws as regards land and its ancestral inhabitants was bundled and delegated by people who are alien to the regions in question, all in the guise and aid of a fraudulent land use act perpetuated without the consent of the aborigines.
The statement of the so called king, who claims that his power of supervision spreads from his kingdom to as far as Ogute is everything equal to fraud. The region he so claims spans over two LGAs in edo state which has people of different tribe and dialects.

This is why I hate to believe stories that are been reported by these hungry bloggers. If you must report a story as sensitive as this, make sure you make it as balance as possible.
Now let me enlighten you a bit.
History does not have it that Okpella Kingdom has at anytime shared a common boundary with the Erhurun people.
Okpella has a common boundary with Dangbala people of Akoko Edo LGA. This the people of Dangbala can attest to this fact.
Erhurun were allowed to temporarily settle in that part of Okpella land because of the generosity of the then Ruler of OKPELLA.
The said feud is not between Erhurun and the entire people of Okpella. Okpella is too big to go into a feud with that tiny village. (Okpella is the third largest town in Edo state). The quarrel is between Erhurun and Ogute-oke.
As against what the OP wants to make this forum believe, the People of Erhurun are the aggressive once. They have attaked and unleashed more harm on the people of Ogute most of whom are now refugees in other parts of Okpella Kingdom.
The Okuokpellagbe of Okpella is a God-fearing and peace-loving leader. He has invited the leaders of Erhurun for peaceful dialog on several occasion and his offers were turned down. If he had allowed a retaliation from his people, perhaps the whole of Erhurun will be ashes and debris by now.
As for the issue of limestone deposit, I can authoritativly say that, that is not true. Okpella has more than enough limestone that can last for ages. Dont forget that they already have two cement factories. Other are still warming up.
Much as the good people of Okpella Kingdom seldom violence, I am using this opportunity to ask that they continue to tow the path of peace until the government of the day come to mediate on the issue.

Ironsi was in a difficult situation. No precedence then.

He did it to reassure the North of Nigerian unity. But he clearly underestimated (or overestimated their leniency) the Northerners, believing that they would surely see that he didn't kill Northern leaders, and he was doing his best to restore sanity & unity.
