By Afolabi Kayode THE FUTURE For how long shall we remain mute? When will we rise from the abyss? Who'll wake us up from our Disney fantasy? When will we stop dancing to their tunes? . Kings living as blokes We are treated as slaves, despite our worth Coerced by their lies Our progress is minimal Despite our hard labours. . Our voice is gagged into silence by their crumbs Used and cheapened like a LovePeddler We're like stepping stones to their ambitions Yet they have no thought for our future. .
