EVER RESPONSIVE WEBMASTERS! we seriously nid ur expert advice on a project we r abt to start. subscribers r suposd 2come onboard by short mesage code service. bt d companies we hav talkd 2 r givin us dificult terms 2get the short mesage code service. dat they'll take 70% OF woteva proceed and we take 30%. I BET Y'ALL knw wot am talkin abt. we want 2knw if its posible 4us 2buy dis service outrightly and pay montly service charges instead of sharin proceeds wit em. dis is where y'all come in. CAN ANY1 IN D HOUSE THINK OF ANODA WAY 2GET SUBSCRIBERS ONBOARD? havin in mind dat dis method must b simple so we can get more ppl on. THANKS!

I can help you with your own SMS 2 way server/gateway but that doesnt help you cos it would use normal GSM No. U'll have to get the short-code yourself.

Search the forum. A guy wanted to sell a short code gateway once. That might be a ready made solution for you.

Good Luck.

Lojik, av conducted this search and seeing nothing relating to the guy that wants to sell the gateway.

How does this ur solution work?

UPDATE WITH THE SHORT MESSAGE CODE COY:

I spent a realy long time with em on fone yesterday, they said i'll have to pay 250k to aquire the service and then monthly service chargesnof 50k, but we shall be sharing the proceeds 70% for em - 30 for us.

The other option they gave me was: to buy the service outrightly for 1yr, which in total is about 500k then with monthly charges of 50k,

i dont know how u guyz see this, 500k? i think this option is better than the first, in the first, if u make 500k as profit, what comes 2u at the end of the sharing is about 125k, which is as good as not being in business at all.

i need ur views guyz, kindly help in making this decision.

I dont know what it costs to get a shortcode number from MTN, Zain or Glo but what it costs u to setup an application to receive and process and respond to sms/MMS is less that 150k. One time fee and no recurrent monthly subscriptions.

If u can get ur short code urself, then get a simple nokia phone wit cable or bluetooth (and GPRS if u're doing MMS). Get an sms server application and code ur own app to use the server's api. thats all.

We have one in Afrisoft but we use 080,   number because we weren't planning on charging extra for the sms. We worked out other means of billing.

i totally agree with lojik but if u must choose from the two, i adviseu u go for the 500k if not soon or later u will be working and they will making the money.

yeah, av been thinking, though i spoke to an oga in the house today and he made some real explanations to me on a way to go on without having to spend this 500k.

Does it make sense to have a short msg code for each network? as in, u go to each of these network providers, MTN, ZAIN, Glo, etc, talk to em and let em give u a short msg code each.
does anyone think this is ok? though i have scheduled the whole of tomoro to go see all the providers in PH.
