FG have placed a ban on the importation of rice to encourage local production. But I like most other Nigerians know that this will only lead to price skyrocketing in the near future. We Nigerians can't do without rice, kindly express your view. Do you like the ban or not?

Guy we need to encourage local production in order to boost our economy and create jobs for people.

This isn't the first time it has been banned, they always ban rice but it still finds its way in, moreover prices have jacked up to like 13k already.

I am in support of the move but what is the incentive given to dormers?

If this can be followed through? Its going to be a major boost for the Nigeria economy as rice is One if not the only major food in Nigeria. Imagine how many people will have to produce the rice to feed Nigerians.

No incentives to farmers , no clear goal or direction and we wanna ban rice importation? We need to encourage the farmers in Abakaliki and Ogun by providing improved seeds, finance and retraining.

how are we going to cope sha. The local rice has sand like ther is no tomorrow. On the bright side it would encourage the local farmers

If only we can ban importation of anything into Nigeria, then, Nigerians will get sense and start producing and we all know what that means to our dwindling economy.

They're banning the rice now o. Hope they will not start giving us the one they mould with cassava

We need to Look inward and Grow what we Eat. We have Enough Farmlands to Satisfy the whole Country as well as Export to Other African Countries. So it's a Welcome Development and I Support it.

Well of its properly put in place, it will go a long way in helpn out economy.
