Samsung’s fate is tied to the iPhone financially. As per the Korean company’s recent results, the greater the number of phones Apple Inc. sells, the better it is for Samsung economy. Being an iPhone components supplier has proven very beneficial for Samsung, as it is earning great deal of profits from Apple Inc. At this point of business, Samsung would do anything to become an even more crucial part for Apple. Apple is a fierce rival for Samsung.
Many reports have proved that Samsung Display is trying their best to convince Apple to replace their future series of Iphone’s LCD display’s to the OLED ones. Many sources have been claiming that the OLED displays of Samsung are liked much more than the iPhone’s LCD.
Apple Inc. has been using the LCD displays mainly because the LCD displays reduce the overall costs of the phone whereas the OLED would increase the overall cost of the phone.
Ming-Chi-Kuo, a well known person connected with the Apple Inc. since a long time said that Apple might switch over to OLED display, which proves that it furthermore reinforces the belief.
Along with this, it is supposedly being said that Samsung Display would challenge LG display in the process since LG display is the supplier for the LCD displays for the iPhones.
Samsung has bigger plans to improve their business and that convincing Apple to switch over to OLED displays would play a major role in the same. For this, Samsung is even willing to lower their prices for the OLED display panels. If Apple gets convinced in using OLED displays, it would be profitable for the whole of the global display industry. With this major turnover in the display industry, LG would also be influenced to increase the OLED display screen production in their plants to remain a part of Apple’s business.
LCD’s would not fade away but would be considered as optional rather than primary. Apple is considered as the king of technology and that it holds the key to unlock the epoch for the OLED displays in the market.
Becoming an iPhone components supplier holds a great deal of importance for Samsung. Evidently, Samsung wants to win over most of Apple’s business since Apple is giving a hard time to its Galaxy handset stocks present in the stores.
