I plan on baking a cake, but am looking at the electricity/power shortage. Is there a way I can preserve a cake without refridegerating it? If yes, how long will it be preserved? Caterers in the house, please I need your suggestions. |

Mine has lasted up to a week without preservatives so maybe it can last an extra week with preservatives. |

Yooguyz:I usually add alcohol but sometimes I don't, and I ensure I finish it up fast. Alcohol helps. |

But surely you have to consider the kids when adding alcohol to cakes. Is there no alternative to preserving cakes? You can preserve a normal (sponge) cake by wrapping it un greaseproof paper and clingfilm and keep on your counter top. |
