This was disclosed by the Chairman of the PSC, Mr. Mike Okiro in a meeting with the Senate Committee on Police. However, Mr Okiro, explained that only ten thousand spaces are available. Hehehehe... Men nor get joy for this country, xo after them insult police finish, dem wan still join the force The shocking thing about this recruitment is that out of the total number of applicants only 1.8% will be given the Job... Its so sad we are in a situation like this. This is what happens when u have an unemployment rate of 36.8% of a population of over 170 million people... Even many people who claim they are employed are underemployed, thats why they will still join the unemployed to apply for this vacancy... 37 Likes 3 Shares |

All is well! At least those people at the government house will know that unemployment in Nigeria is a time-bomb. If there's no solution then the future is bleak. 1 Like |

Is that how people like police work? Or is it because there's no work in Nigeria? |

At least effort is being made to provide employment. The rail lines the senate rejected would have provided another tens of thousands of jobs. Gradually people become employed. I am scared however, that the Nigerian youth do not know they should be insisting on including this project in this year's budget. 5 Likes |

trust me people will attribute this to the 10month old government, forgetting the accumulating effect of ineffectual, nonPeople -centred administration that has been impoverishing the masses at the alter of getting their choicest properties abroad. 3 Likes 1 Share |

This is the reason why I will always respect GOODLUCK JONATHAN who made a provision for the coalition of all the forces in the area of employment. You don't allow these forces throw out vacancies sequentially, and then allow the same set of Airforce applicants try NPF tomorrow, and then, the same people apply for Navy next week, and Army in the coming months. Make the vacancies available at the same time. For instance, 10,000 for Police, 10,000 for Navy, 50,000 Army, 20,000 Civil defence, etc. Put these in a single site and allow applicants apply ONLY to 1 agency! This would greatly limit the repetitive applications, lessen the burden on these agencies, and of course, increase the chances of applicants. Simple common sense. Without this formula, we'll keep receiving 1 million applications yearly. If they've all publicize the vacancies on a single database, the Police wouldn't have gotten more than 80,000 applications, civil defence 90,000, etc. I hope the Civil Defence & Ministry of Labour are ready to accept another 1 million & 2 million applications for the Graduate Teaching Scheme since they've all decided to act without SENSE. 50 Likes 2 Shares |

the proposed calabar-lagos rail, passing through all 6states of the north, 2 in the south east and 3 in the south west, would have provided employ.employment for an estimated 500,000 folks, but it was expunged and money from it used in budgetting for Keke, and constituency allowance, and some deranged Nigerians are coming up to say the rail is not neccesary.... #smh 4 Likes |

This accurately reflects the alarming rate of unemployment in this country. Registration ends in a month's time and there are already over 500,000 applicants for 10,000 spaces! What pains the most is that many of the people who have applied did not do so because of their love for the profession. They simply did to escape unemployment. Government at all levels must soberly reflect on this and arrest the looming disaster that unemployment is bound to give rise to. 2 Likes |
