INTRODUCTION

Am going to talk about some concept ,tools, process that would aid SME business drive revenue using online. The focus of this write up is to open our eyes on what to do ''when words don't work''..

The concept ; what is business modelling : We have a lot of different definition to this topic, some call it strategy , others call it process e.t.c. My definition is sharing visual language that enables SME design, innovate there ideas by using a Business modelling Canvas.

NINE BUILDING BLOCKS

There are Nine basic building blocks using Business modelling canvass which is the tool used by organization in creating value. Well to Plan as such is not wrong in business , you have to plan the right thing.

Plans are worthless but the planning is everything for SMEs , what we actually plan is the search for the right business model. Let me take you through the Nine Building blocks.

The idea is you map out all this blocks with a relationship of defining your approach going online. Let take a case, an entrepreneur that operates in the Fashion business. You would agree with me that fashion is a big business in today's world. The SME uses the building blocks for online Business modelling Canvass;

Customer Segment: Define your customers if you are selling Adult's wears or children's wears. What kind of customers are you focusing on working class and upwardly mobile customers.

Value Propositions: Selling garments at convenience to upwardly mobile customers online using online market shops.

Customer Relationships: Interfacing with the customer and getting feedback

Revenue Stream: generating recurrent revenue through returnees

Key Resources: digital marketing manager,delivery personal , inventory manager, accountant, sales force. It all depends on your business

Key Activities : A regular routine is to update your content online with pictures, tracking your orders, delivery your orders e.t.c

Key Partnerships: Yeah you need MTN(SME Internet-Hynet, MTN Multi Online Business portal- themarketplace.ng, , kaymu.com.ng, smemarkethub.com.ng, dealdey.com.ng

Cost structures: The cost structure you have to factor key infrastructure e.g Internet devices( MTN Hynet),Premium placement online shops like themarketplace.ng e.t.c .
