At about 7:00pm, People ran helter-skelter as two armed robbers struck at Bova's Filling Station, Oritamefa, Total Garden, Ibadan.
The two armed robbers, who wore Ankara outfit, were on motor bike (okada), and appeared to have laid ambush for a woman who came to buy fuel at the station, according to an eye witness. As soon as the woman bought fuel and was about leaving the filling station, the armed robbers shot sporadically into the air. This caused pandemonium, and in the midst of it, they went straight for their target. In a twinkle of an eye, they approached the woman, and demanded she hand over the bag on the front passenger seat to them. She struggled with them, and they forced her door open, shove her away from the driver's seat, and drove her away with her car from the scene of the robbery.
Up till now no one knows the fate of the woman.
So, if you know anyone who's gone to buy fuel at the Total garden area of Ibadan, and hasn't returned home, you could please call the police. Shortly after the incident, Police from Yemetu Station arrived at the scene.

But I observed some loopholes in our sense of security. Imagine people were just running away from the scene of the robbery. Nobody thought it wise to block the road with their cars, while the robbers were struggling with the woman in her car, to at least prevent the car form being driven away. There was a long queue of cars , and even some cars parked haphazardly waiting to get fuel. Everybody fled the scene. To me, that was not good enough! The moment people hear gunshots, the next thing is to run. The bystanders could have rescued the woman. I also expect people to have chased the car, not too closely, at least, to know the direction the robbers were going. Some of these things matter.

May she be found unharmed.

This our country issue now demands everybody to repent because nobody knows what will happen in next minute.... even person enter car or take bike, accident fit happen.... if na plane, dat one fit crash too and if person come say na trek sure pass, stray bullet nko? Nigeria is just too dramatic.... may God help us!

I wasn't at the scene of the robbery. But seriously, we should learn not to panic in a time like this. There were over hundred cars in that vicinity. Someone could have just blocked the road with a car and run away while the robbers were struggling with the woman. That would have made their escape difficult. It's what I could do.
