Why Your Ideas Will End Up Dead! by engkorede(m): 5:11pm On Apr 23, 2016
While walking along the road, the blockbuster thought came. You think it’d make your business grow if employed.

You were on your bed lying, and this thought just hit your head. You think that is really what your business needs. And then you slept off.

You know what?

All those ideas will always come, go, and end up dead! Why? Because you’re only thinking of them. You’re not doing these two things:

1. You’re not writing down your ideas

2. You’re not implementing them

Often times while going about our day to day activities ideas just flash in our head. We’d think it out; draw them as they should be all in our brain. But alas! Those thoughts will afterwards end up in the bin.

Ideas we think about are in our head. They will never see the day’s light without pulling them free. You may think about one thousand ideas at a time, but all will amount to zero without the effort to scribble them down.

However, just writing down our ideas is not also enough. Ideas can last for 100 years in a book without it adding any meaning to your business. The elixir to not killing your ideas is to implement them asynchronously. Failing to implement your written ideas is more like not thinking of them at all.

Ideas are powerful. Joseph Stalin quoted “ideas are more powerful than you. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas.” I can’t agree less. This abstract entity can change many things. And as they’re so useful, they cannot change things without taking them into use. They are like stagnant water. When extracted they can be used for various things. And when it is left, it’ll be of no use and dry up.

That’s why Ambedkar also said “men are mortal. So are ideas. An idea needs propagation as much as a plant needs watering. Otherwise both will wither and die.”

You can make your ideas worthwhile with these 5 ways:

1. Make sure you have a note and pen with you most times. This can also be eased with your phone. Have a writing app at hand.

2. Make sure to always write down your ideas as they keep coming. Never procrastinate.

3. Classify them into short and long term ideas.

4. Access your short term ideas every week and carry out all implementation it needs.

5. Access your long term ideas promptly and ensure a step by step ways of implementing them.

With these, you’re sure to grow your business and transcend the ordinary level.

Remember also that ideas may come from friend, families, and associates. Weigh them and think on them. Importantly make sure to write them down as well. And finally implement them as and when due.

So today, promise yourself that those flowing ideas in your head will not go as they came. Make sure they’re worthwhile, useful and contributing. Maybe that idea is the long sought breakthrough your business needs. So never waste them any longer!

What else kill those ideas in you? Share them in the comments.
