The League Management Company (LMC) signed a memorandum of
understanding with the La Liga on April 16 in Abuja.

The deal was a five year collaborative agreement between both parties.
Chairman of the LMC, Shehu Dikko penned the deal on behalf of the
Nigerian league, while, the La Liga president, Javier Tebas, signed on
behalf of the Spanish league.

Reacting to the partnership during his speech, Shehu Dikko said.

“We have a lot to learn from the La Liga and they too have much to
learn from us at least from the mistakes we have made and how to avoid
them as well as the positives we have equally achieved.
“We are signing a collaborative agreement with La Liga which, in the
first instance, will last for five years which is quite a long time to
examine how we are moving forward.”
