Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by lagosboy3(m): 9:37pm On Mar 10, 2018
Please, how have you been coping with MIUI's over-aggressive RAM management issues? MIUI force closes apps in the background so that they consume less power but the disadvantage of that is you miss out on important notifications. For me, I must open certain apps like Truecaller before it is fully functional. Also, my second WhatsApp account is permanently offline until I start up the app. This can be really frustrating. All the workarounds I've seen online have not been of any help.

Any ideas folks? Where are the MIUI gurus in the house? Gptech, Grandmufti and Co.

Go to SETTINGS >INSTALLED APPS, search for the affected apps, tap on it, enable AUTO START.

I'll keep observing.

I'm now officially part of the Xiaomi family.
My Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus just arrived.

P.s: I have watched virtually all the unboxing on YouTube, but no camera could capture the full beauty of the phone cool.

I still can't believe it's not a flagship, cuz I'm having same feeling I had when I held my friend's Samsung s8. Nice job Xiaomi. I obviously wasn't disappointed. Time to intimidate my tecno and infinix colleagues. cheesy

Welcome to xiaomi family.
Add Samsung J series colleagues to the list lol

Apparently... I just gave up after a while.

But I never tried turning on autostart. Guess that's a new one. My phone has become a new baby.

My frustrations with RAM management almost led to dumping MIUI after 3yrs of being a Xiaomi fanboy.

Never tell people, with certainty, what they should have done in a particular situation you've never been. You might be worse if you were in their shoes.

Please house, my Google play store shows device uncertified on redmi 5 plus. How do i solve this? Some apps doesn't work fine due to this e.g DStv now app requires Google certification to stream, games not showing on screen controls.

A colleague in the office had this issue... All I did was to send him my own apk, he installed and everything it was fine..

Download the latest version on another person's phone, use xender or any other method to transfer cheers...

He eventually set up dual view on his phone.... grin

lol..You just read my thoughts. My guy is planning on selling his J7 after seeing mine.

The only downside I have noticed so far is that the camera performs very poorly on low light. But for this price I don't think that's a big deal.

The fact that J7 users spent 90K for 32GB/3GB that's not as powerful as the equivalent Xiaomi phone just for brand name shows that Samsung juju is working
