In ma own case,rather than click on send/recieve,the other party usally scans,like a barcode scan sumtin,xender always notifies me that the other party android version is lower and they would need to scan befor we both can connect,hav you ever seen such notification befor?

When you said you have enough space, on memory card or internal memory?
If you are using memory card, then open Xender - tap on profile icon - setting - download location. change it to memory card or where u have more space

By enough space, I actually meant on both my internal memory and my SD card. That is, space far more than the size of whatever file I am to receive.

About the receiver, I wouldn't know because I've tried with several phones. But I assume they are all the same Nougat version as mine or above.

yu might not need de blazing speed of flagship cpu, bt gpu alwayz mataz! U cnt compare adreno 630 to ani midrange gpu, side by side o, far by far o. Yu wil always see a very clear difference

The difference between a mid-range GPU and a flagship GPU is still the speed, When playing games you will notice
some lags and not fluid experience..

My Xender is the latest version available, according to Google playstore.

At first I was getting "insufficient space", even though I had enough space. But when I tried receiving a file of about 3mb and it still said the same thing, I knew it was a different issue all together.

Later on it changed to "transfer error".
I can send, but I can't receive at all.

Open file manager and not from about phone, check if you have any free space.. if there is enough space at least over 1GB, then you need to go to apps, Delete Xender app cache and data then try again.
