Any tips on how to improve the front cam?
It's honestly more terrible than my Note 4X front cam. Photos are washed out somewhat.

Do I need root to install Gcam? If you have link to any reliable one pls share

No massive hit. It was open box when i got it so its not nearly as much of a loss. I am a bit of a reckless buyer though so this also fits into that pattern but honestly band 28 alone is going to make me sell the mi 8. I've been suffering with mtn since all these days. My glo 4g is buttery smooth in my room right now.

Actually i didn't pick the oneplus as much as it picked me. It was a swap deal but it's fine.

I'm not sure i ever used the front camera on my mi 8. I sort of hate selfies. So i can't really help with that but you don't need root to install gcam. I think genius43 has the link.

Your WiFi/Bluetooth scanning is on as shown in your screenshot revealed by the blue bar under WiFi. It consumes an amount of battery

To turn it off, go to settings >> additional settings >> privacy >> Location >> scanning >> turn off WiFi scanning and Bluetooth scanning.

You don't need root to install gcam on mi8 as it supports camera2api by default.

I can't recall exactly but ensure its the updated version you installed, I couldn't log in at first , searched for solution on Google and one worked but I can't pinpoint which again.
