Hi to all my Nigerian people, I have been thinking of opening a security company in Lagos or Abuja however I don't even know where to start from.

Few things about me I do have a lot of experience in Security and Close protection also specialist in few fire arms. Reason why? I have been serving in the British Army for 9 years, been to Iraq and Afghanistan so I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to High profile and Dangerous environment.

So that is why I'm asking if any one out there knows what step I need to take next. grin grin grin

Hi,
With regards to your request. The first thing you need to do is first of all incorporate your company with the corporate affairs commission (CAC) in abuja. after that the next step is to register with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) as a security firm.

The above is the regulatory requirements you need to get done to start up your business.

With regards to manpower, ex service men; retired army, navy, airforce and police personnel with do. You can also brush them up by giving them specialized training.

I am the co-founder or Armoured Plus Services Limited (www.armouredplus.com) and we deal in the sales, service and support or armoured vehicles for VIP transportation and i will be happy to have my company work in partnership with yours.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply, I'm about to say something now which I know a lot of people will agree with me.

When it comes to Nigerian Army,Air force or Police I will not even trust them a bit reason why? I have seen some of the Nigerian forces training GOD!! that is not a training is like they are been castrated being beaten to dead on training, that doesn't make you a professional Soldier it will just turn you to an Animal.

I'm not surprise when they do come out from training they are nasty to we Nigeria Citizen which they are meant to be protecting

Indeed. a security outfit is a very viable business. There is an ever increasing need for such outfits in all sectors of Nigerian business environments.
As earlier advised, start by registering your company. Follow-up by recruiting young Individuals. Seek Police co-operation please do this by getting to speaking with any top official of the Nigerian Police at Kam Salem House, Lagos Island.

More importantly, advertise your company by visting corporate organisations who may be interested

I reiterate, it's a very viable business and you shall have no regret going into it.

I'd be happy to explain certain logistics to consider before start-up.
