Introduction

One of the easiest ways for Destructive Hackers to gain access to your confidential information on your Computer is through the use of a skillfully developed software. These software are attached with files we download online which in-turn automatically get installed on your systems unknowingly. One of the deadliest software is the one that sends your secret passwords to the Hacker and it is called a KEY-LOGGER.
Key-loggers are nasty programs that affect your whole computers security. A key-logger is a program, just like any other virus, that is used by online intruder to gain access to your computer without your consent or knowledge. Key-loggers are so dangerous because of the way they work. A key-logger will capture “every” single keystroke that someone types on an infected computer. This includes typing a word document to imputing personal data into a secure internet website. It is imperative that IF you have a key-logger or identify one on your computer, you do NOT do anything on your computer until you have removed the program and secured your personal computer.

My following posts will have information on how to identify if you have a key-logger and how to get it removed as with out account security information should you have had your Run-escape account comprised because of a key-logger or any other type of virus.

If for any reason what so ever, you need to use your computer whilst it is infected with a key-logger, do not use your keyboard. Even if you are not on the internet, the key-logger will still record your keystrokes. NOTE Depending on what type of key-logger it is, you might be able to get away with using an on-screen keyboard to do very basic things on your computer, until you get a chance to clean it off.


If your keylogger has been obtained by download via a dodgy URL, then chances are, it WILL give off keystrokes regardless of whether you are using the on-screen keyboard or not. If you have a physical keylogger [such as a USB plugged into the back of your tower], the it will NOT record any on-screen keyboard clicks.
Remember that using an infected computer is highly dangerous and is to be avoided at all costs. Unless its an emergence, disconnect the tower from the internet and remove any USB’s from the computer. Use a specialist program to clean the computer before attempting to use again.

(Mac)
System Preferences –> Keyboard
Tick “Show Keyboard & Character Viewers in menu bar”
Choose “Show Keyboard Viewer” in the menu bar.
