Good day, sirs. i bought this vehicle used by a company, however, i knew before buying it and didnt think it would be a big issue, hopefully i am right. Its a 5 speed manual, 2.4l i4 16v, and all the gears work except that in order to enter gear 4 i would have to pump the clutch twice or thrice this happens only for gear 4 otherwise all others are okay. Please what is the likely cause and how can i direct my mechanic ? thanks fam. |

Homguy: Gearbox loading.............. Might be gear synchro damage/gearteeth wear. Gearbox has to be operated on to find source or extent of damage or repair required. |

GAZZUZZ:alright boss but the car is in Ondo state and i know u are based in lagos. However, gear four would not engaged while driving unless i depress the clutch, release then depress it again as in a pumping action before it moves into the gear four position. However, gears 1, 2, 3 and 5 enters without any need to pump tthe clutch. I dont just want to give it to any kazeem. I would prefer to give him directions. I hope its a bit more lucid boss. |

The former Toyoace G25 truck we're using for Sachet water sales has this issue, it was an headache then until one Agbegi driver told us to be pumping the clutch pedal 2-3 times before attempting changing gear & ever since then, no further issue unless u didn't follow the steps |
