According to the organization, the survey will help provide a better understanding on the impact of discrimination based on a persons Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Nigeria. It will also help to provide data to the issue and drive a global advocacy for proactive action.

The survey is exclusively for LGBT Nigerians only, and participation is open to LGBT Nigerians living both in and outside Nigeria. However, there is a condition which states that LGBT Nigerians who have left the country for more than 10 years is not allowed to participate.

The organization promises that the survey is extremely confidential. Meaning that whatever information supplied by individuals who take the survey, will be kept private and will not be shared or traced to them.

The survey has been estimated to take about 10 – 20mins to complete, and individuals are also encouraged to share by using the hashtag “‪#‎NigeriaLGBTSurvey“ on twitter.
