I do not claim to be a saint
and I am not saying I am without taint

Like everyone I have my moments of slips
It may be with the words I utter with my lips
or the things I do with my hips

What matters is that I regret
and I, in retrospect, about them fret

and I to God turn, seeking his face
that in Him I may find mercy and solace
and look upon Him for His grace

and when by His grace, He hath made me new
I do not to those devilish deeds continue

Instead to God I remain ever thankful
and I strive to become pious and prayerful
