I spent the late hours of Saturday listening to a young entrepreneur complain bitterly about how his business is held up by NAFDAC and their regulations for registration. Not only the long time it takes but the difficulty he's having in meeting their high regulations. This guy wants to have a cookies brand - they really tasted wonderful - and he doesn't want to go ahead without getting the necessary registrations and documentations. This is not the first time i hear someone complain about this. How long does an entrepreneur with limited resources have to wait to do what he needs to do?

Our government encourages our young people to become entrepreneurs and create more jobs and better the economy. We are doing that. But are they (our government) undoing our best efforts by the harshness of the business climate in the country? Should anyone have to wait for 1 month to register a business name? Or 1 year to get NAFDAC? Does it have to take forever to get business funding from the BOI?

What's your experience? Let us speak out.
