Initially, I hated Daniel Craig wen he first appeared in Casino Royale becuz he was so diff frm the Bond Stereotype I had grown up to know. After reading thru sceptics' high praise of him in their movie reviews, however, I stepped bak and re-assessed the man. He's cold, ruthless and impersonal-only in Casino Royale did he show emotion by falling in love and suffering the pain of a lost love- a part he portrayed excellently. He's not suave and I think that's wat most people hate abt him, but therein lies the strength behind his character and makes his persona believeable- he is imperfect unlike all the other James Bonds we wer made to believe wer smooth and flawless.
I watched Skyfall wit mixed feelings but most critics around the world praise it as possibly the best Bond flick ever. Y°u can google "Skyall" and read thru its wikipedia page if y°u don't believe me.
And be4 I forget, the thing I hate most abt Craig isn't his crudeness, its his face. The dude is fugly.

I think I just fell in love with max. You are sooo on point. Who needs a sissy Bond, tall and handsome face, but absolutely no body and an initiated, baptized and confirmed ashewo to boot? Daniel Craig is just it, with Sean Connery coming (a bit of a distant) second in my estimation. I love them all though- beautiful Roger Moore, elegant Pirece Brosnan, somewhere out there Timothy Dalton. Did not even know that George Lazenby existed until perhaps like 10 years ago. I saw a movie of a strange Bond that I could not stand watching some years before I found out who he was and his name. He's American for that matter! Imagine!
The sissiness of Bond just made us all too readily accept Jason Bourne. A real spy, who could not afford to be extremely cool and had to look like he was serious about saving his hide. He also didn't go about announcing to his potential killers that he was Bourne, Jason Bourne. He used aliases and protected his identity all he could. I think Geena Davies was even a better Spy than most Bonds. I loved her in 'A long kiss goodnight'.[b][/b]

Someone complained that Craig's Bond did not confront real villains. Men, is that joke? Ernst Blofeld is your idea of a real villain? One stupid cartoon-like Character that catches Bond several times and still leaves him free to use his gadgets to escape? I think Gustav Graves, the North Korean guy was the real baddy, but still, an individual, identifiable and stoppable. Have you tried confronting a clique, say in your office or some other community who thought you were 'marchin their banga'? Craig's Bond was hunted by the British and American govts. CIA really wanted to kill him and M told him they had a 'capture or kill' order out on him. Can you beat such a connected criminal organization? As for not understanding the movie half the time, don't tell me you are the nigerian home video type. You know how they don't like oyibo films because of their ability to tell the stories without somebody having to state exactly what is happening at every point to us the dumb audience. If you are to discuss the Bonds and compare intelligently and be taken seriously, this should not be the case. anyway sha, you do sound better than the people I described above.

Daniel is like a retired Army dude.

David Oyelewo, Idris Elba, Chris Helmsworth, the list of the actors that can play it better is long.

By the way, Skyfall is the worst James Bond flick I ever saw. James Bond is about charm, smoothness and unbelievable gadgets, not about gritty action.
