That though we are no 1 in livestock production in Africa yet have not met our national animal protein needs hence the importation.
That there is opportunity for anyone interested in llivestock for milk production to tap out of the $1.3 billion worth of milk we import annually.

The essence of the goat census or statistics is to see what we have on ground (in terms of livestock) compared to our human population wether its adequate or not. For future population planning.

Knowing our population and the food requirement of each individual is what will help us know wether we are self sufficient or we need to work harder to meet our need or for export
