For Quite some time now my laptop(dell vostro 1500) can not go into hibernation again, when i try it talls me that it has been disabled by the administrator, how can i get it back

@kuntagunit when asking for advice next time, can you please specify it is xp or vista, as this makes things alot easier

since I dont know whether is xp or vista I"ll be going for xp due to is popularity here we go @kuntagunit


1.Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Power Options.

2.Click the Hibernate tab, and then select the Enable hibernate support check box. If the Hibernate tab is not available, your hardware does not support this feature.

3.Click OK to close the Power Options dialog box

this may also explains to you the advantages and disadvantages of putting your computer into hibernation

Hey Poster.

Here's the simple trick to use.

1. Open the command window in admin mode.

2. issue the following command : powercfg /hibernate on

3. Go the shutdown men and you'll find hibernate enabled.
