integrated technology limited.
The plantain chips production training took place on
the 3rd of March 2016 at three different locations;

currently serves.
The students were taken through the process of
sourcing materials for production and a practical on
the process of producing plantain chips was
undertaken by the corps member.
Explaining the process, Abdullateef said that the
students must maintain good personal hygiene
throughout the production.
“After collecting the raw plantain, we first peel and
slice into a clean container. After this, we will add
food colourant, table salt, sugar and water at
required quantity before frying. We can either fry
with vegetable or palm oil depending on choice. We
must be neat and careful during this process so as to
have good output.” He explained.
The following day, 4th February 2016, the students of
EHCOWAS Discovery Academy were taken on an
excursion to to hepzibah Integrated Technology
limited located, Magajin gari, Kaduna.
They were received by the Head of the training Mr
Kelle Irenuma who took them through the Business,
networking, hardware and sales departments of the
company.
Commenting on the organisation of the students, Mr
Irenuma said that the students were well organized
as he would love to see them take up different
trainings with the company.
The overjoyed students in their comments said that
they have learned as well as enjoyed themselves
during the excursion and training.
One of them, Hajara Mahmud Mahmud an SS3
student of the school when asked about the excursion
replied that it was the ‘best excursion experience she
ever had.’ In her remarks, the principal of Ehcowas
Discovery Academy, Hajiya Fatima Muhammad

the knowledge will assist them not to solely depend
on the government in the future.
Thanking God for the successful successful

“We are in the computer era and everything you do
now requires computer literacy that is why I deem it
fit to take them on the excursion to expose them to
new things. For the plantain training, it is something I
have been doing before and I feel I should train
them on a skill which will serve them in the present
and the nearest future.” He stated.
Abdullateef, a 2015 Batch B corps member of Kaduna
state also informed about other of his projects which
include; plantain production training for community
