I'll like to say something to young people, When you've got a Vision, you Don't Need Permission! Lots of young people send messages with great ideas on things they're passionate about and sort of need that push, endorsement or approval to go ahead. Yes you might need guidance, but you certainly don't need permission from anyone. Go ahead, start, make your mistakes, learn from it, but keep moving on. If you keep waiting for permission, it may never come & you'll never get anything done. Identify your area of passion, develop your capacity and expertise in it, actively look out for opportunities to volunteer and then also look for a Mentor and "serve". Don't ask for any favors, help or anything until you've built a great relationship with him or her. This may take some time, 3-6-9 months, however long it takes, be ready to wait and invest that time, it will surely pay off. So many people look for Mentors & once they establish some form of contact, they immediately begin to send long lists of all they want, while they forget the same Mentor has needs & career related issues also. You want the best way to get Mentors? Identify what they are passionate about, what they need or what they're struggling with and provide the solution. Some of these Mentors need help with research, typing or editing manuscripts for conferences, power point presentations for workshops, information, and other stuffs which takes up a lot of their time. Be there to provide that solution and see whether they won't open up doors for you in return. I've said quite a lot, hope this helps someone.
