There are currently 43 African players in Euro 2016.

It is not the first time you might had read about many African players abandoning their country and playing for national team in a foreign land.

Brainnews NG learnt that the main reasons these players takes this drastic decision resulted in maltreatment from their home football management team, some are half cast, had signed citizenship with the foreign country, and many left their country’s football team because it was not fully developed and equipped.

Names of players and the African country they are from:

ANGOLA has 2 players namely: William Carvalho (Portugal) Blaise Matuidi (France).

CAMEROUN has 3 players namely: Breel Embolo (Switzerland), Francois Moubandje (Switzerland) and Samuel Umtiti (France).

CAPE-VERDE has 5 players: Eliseu (Portugal), Gelson Fernandez (Switzerland), Joao Mario (Portugal), Luis Nani (Portugal) and Renato Sanchez (Portugal).

COTE D’ VOIRE has 2 players: JOHAN DJOUROU (Switzerland) and JONATHAN TAH (Germany).

EGYPT has 1 player: Stephen El Shaarawy (Italy).

ETHIOPIA has 1 player: Theodor Gebre Selassie (Czech Republic).

GHANA has 1 player: Jerome Boateng (Germany).

GUINEA has 1player: Paul Pogba (France).

GUINEA-BISSAU has 2 players: Danilo Pereira and Eder (Portugal).

KENYA has 2 players: Martin Olsson (Sweden) and Divock Origi (Belgium).

MALI has 3 players: Moussa Dembele (Belgium), Ngolo Kante (France) and Moussa Sissoko (France).

MOROCCO has 2 players: Marouane Fellaini (Belgium), Adil Rami (France).

NIGERIA has 5 players: David Alaba (Austria), Dele Alli (England), Angelo Ogbonna (Italy), Rubin Okotie (Austria) and Hal Robson-Kanu (Wales).

CONGO DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC has 9 players: Michy Batshuayi (Belgium), Christian Benteke (Belgium), Jason Denayer (Belgium), Christian Kabasele (Belgium), Jordan Lukaku (Belgium), Romelu Lukaku (Belgium), Steve Mandanda (France), Eliaquim Mangala (France) and Denis Zakaria (Switzerland).

SENEGAL has 3 players: Patrice Evra (France), Bacary Sagna (France) and Leroy Sane (Germany).

TUNISIA has 1 player: Sami Khedira (Germany).

Player number 44th would have been the injured Belgium Captain Vincent Kompany who is from CONGO.
