Octreotide is used for the treatment of growth hormone producing tumors and bleeding esophageal varices. It is also used in nuclear medicine imaging by labelling with indium-111. Just like teduglutide, Octreotide acetate is a longer acting synthetic octapeptide analog of naturally occurring somatostatin. |
