Brexit Vote Would Shake-up British Football. by SUMCIOUZ(m): 10:23am On Jun 24, 2016
With the EU referendum taking centre stage in the United Kingdom on Thursday, many people are suggesting a 'Brexit' could have negative connotations for football in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
People of all four lands will decide either to remain or leave the European Union, with many different factors across various walks of life being affected by the outcome.
In one regard, British football may fall behind the rest of Europe should they decide to cut ties with the EU, due to the complications that would arise in bringing players in from overseas.

A number of players who have EU passports despite being born in the likes of Africa or South America, would lose the rights they have under the current rules, and West Ham board member Karren Brady admits leaving would cause damage to the game. "Getting out of the EU would have devastating effects on football in Britain," she said."It would put us all at a disadvantage when competing with the rest of Europe."On the other hand, Richard Oxley of 'Vote Leave' said the EU is harmful to football in the UK.

"Outside of the EU, players in this country could grow because clubs couldn't just buy the best foreign talent," he said.
