American tech giant HP launched its new Spectre laptop at an event in India. Touted as the world’s slimmest laptop, the Spectre is just 10.4 mm thick and weighs 1.1 kg. At 13.2 mm thick, Apple’s 12-inch Macbook Air had previously been considered the model of ultra-slim laptops. However, the Spectre has changed the market.

The Spectre is made largely from aluminum, but the underside is crafted out of carbon-fibre. It comes with Intel’s sixth-generation Core processor as well as 8 GB RAM and up to 256 GB SSD storage. The laptop is loaded with a 13.3-inch FHD display —which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3— and a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
The Spectre sports multiple USB Type-C ports that serve as both power ports and media connectors, and HP claims that the laptop’s battery can provide up to nine and a half hours of working time with each full charge. Loaded with heat dissipation technology plus two additional fans in the back, the Spectre stands out in its ability to keep heat away from the motherboard and the processor.
