Ramadan 2016 ends today July 5th 2016 and to begin Eid al-Fitr which means festival of breaking the fast. It involves sharing love, praying and eating with family and friends and also recognised as a time to thank Allah for the strength given them to pass through Ramadan.

Ramadan 2016 lasted for about a month and is considered one of the five pillars of Islam. It is when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset normally 6am - 6pm. They avoid consuming food, alcoholic drink and sex and offer prayer while reciting the Quran.

But Eid al-Fitr starts when the new moon is first seen in the sky but this depends mostly on time zones. For instance in Nigeria and the UK it will begin on the 6th just as Ramadan rounds off today the 5th but might come in late in the USA.....
