Seven divas – including Durban socialite and businesswoman Sorisha Naidoo – who are about to star in their own reality show, turned heads at the Vodacom Durban July.

Their show, which launches on SABC 3 on Monday night at 8pm, is called The Divas of Jozi, and will follow their careers, families, lifestyles and relationships.

Naidoo, who is married to Durban entrepreneur and billionaire, Vivian Reddy, qualifies for the show as she has a branch of her beauty and lifestyle business in Johannesburg.

And on Saturday, the former Miss India South Africa, Naidoo, was hosting the other divas in the VVIP section of Siyaba Casino’s double-storey marquee, where her husband – chairman of Afrisun and Sibaya – entertained the who’s who of society, including Miss South Africa, Ntando Kunene.

The Johannesburg-based divas recently flew down to Durban to support Naidoo when she staged a pre-race fashion show with Durban designer Haroun Hansrot at the Gateway ­Theatre of Shopping.

The well-heeled divas are all outstanding, outspoken, larger-than-life career women, and the camera will trace their individual lives, as well as when they get together as a group.

Naidoo, who has previously appeared on TV as an actress, said she was a “bit nervous” as being in a reality show was very different from acting, when you have to learn lines.

As the show will concern the divas’ lifestyles, she is going to be able to talk about the launch of a new product and the development of her beauty brand.

The cameras were rolling in the Sibaya marquee as the seven women interacted with each other and the footage will appear in one of the episodes.

Six of the 13 episodes in the series have already been shot, and when the producer/director, Archie Tigere, was asked if the show would be a hit with audiences, the reply was “it’s a no-brainer”.

The Sibaya marquee, which like other hospitality suites stuck to the theme – Leader of the Pack – picked up the coveted honour of being the best decorated marquee for the second year running.Read more at:plus size formal dresses australia | red carpet dresses
