Weaving is making; fabric, baskets and other things by crossing thread or strips across, over and under each other by hands or machine called loom. Textiles in the form of dyeing and weaving are widely practiced in West Africa.
In Nigeria, precisely from the west. Cloth weaving has its origin from Iseyin in Oyo State, and later it was reported to have spread to Ilorin, then to other towns and cities like Ifo in Ogun State. The Iseyin people call it Aso Ofi but people from developed cities like Lagos call it Aso Oke because they belief it comes from the hinterland.
