Engrobiorah: i lived with similar pains for 3 years. i was diagnosed with ulcer n so many other illnesses that show similar symptoms like you have described e.g lower back pain, flank pain around the stomach, stomach issues, frequent fevers and frequent occurrence of UTI.

I had to go to a better hospital when the drugs given for ulcer and appendicitis failed to yield any result. there i was asked to do a scan and it showed that there was a cystic growth on my left kidney. infact it had totally covered the whole kidney. i was then referred to UBTH where i was told that surgery was the only option else na serious wahala.

thankfully i did the surgery in march n am recovering well at the moment.

the basis of my story is to make you see that its likely not ulcer or any stomach related issue. Do yourself a big favour and do a general stomach ultrasound scan. please dont delay. and its better you go to a teaching hospital where they have specialists to cater for your issue as most of these docs will jst give you a wrong diagnosis.

Your health will be fine in Jesus name.

Engrobiorah:
On the early days of january this year, I started having backpains. I thought initially that it was due to the excessive weight i lifted. I stopped weight lifting but the pains persisted. With time I started feeling slight pains on the right side of my lower abdomen, where i suspect lies my large intestine(I stand to be corrected). I was scared and decided to visit a medical doctor. I conducted series of tests and scans but nothing was found.
My sister invited me over to Lagos to see a specialist which I did. On getting there I met the doctor and he said I am having ulcers. Yes I have had ulcers in the past but that was in my stomach which i believe is on the left hand side of my abdomen. He said I had too much acid in my intestine and thats what is causing me pains. He gave me an injection to confirm. After a while the pains stopped entirely.
As I got back to Enugu, my ulcers that have never truly shown before has started showing signs now. Anytime i eat I feel the pains in my stomach these days. I cant eat without water. I eat one spoon, I sip water to reduce the pains. But thats not really the big problem, my fears is the right side of my lower abdomen. I hardly sleep, the pains comes and goes. Its not steady. 4days ago I started feeling slight pains on the whole of that my right leg.
I am confused, I am scared, I dont know what this is.

mods please help me

My mum once experienced something like that in June 2014. In her own case she feels a pain in her stomach, from there it gets to the centre of her head and next is down to her legs,she would hardly move when it starts. Even when going to sleep she must have a bottled water by her side. In her case we first went to Parklane hospital in Enugu. She wasn't convinced,the next day she woke me up around 5am to call his brother's number who is a doctor.He asked her to eat and have some water. I thought she was going to die,she asked me to dress up that we are going to Awka to see his brother for check up.
Imagine leaving for Awka around 6:30am with her in such condition. I was driving and alone with her,sometimes it gets worse I will be asked to stop by the road side. She was also told she had excess gas in her system. She went for another Laboratory test and was told to buy the ulcer kit and antacid. She took th drugs constantly for more than a year. She also had to travel to S.A for general ultrasound,by the time she came back to Nigeria she was better off than she left. I recommend you under go the scan before taking any further treatment it would help detect what's actually the cause of the pain in your right leg.

Re: My Troubling Health Issues by begunatoye(m): 4:51pm On Jul 11, 2016
Most likely appendicitis. See a surgeon ASAP. Ulcer can be a secondary effect of inappetance due to your inflamed appendix

Nigerian hospitals are whack. If you can afford it, try a hospital outside of the country.

Even Benin Republic makes more sense

men, I feel sorry for this health issue. I would have loved to talk much about this but I'd just rather list out my points ;
-I actually use to lift weights too(I'm a guy oh,na nairaland personality be this)
- I had same symptoms too, truth be told 'ulcer has cure ' ...doctors will never be truthful about that. first of all,its origin is from bacteria.
- all you need is get tested and you will be prescribed with the exact anti-biotic.
- don't accept any comment that says, 'manage the ailment ' .go ahead and google more

I STILL INSIST YOU SEE A DOCTOR. IT MIGHT NOT BE A MERE ULCER.
NB:there is hope.

fruits and uncooked foods are the origins of the bacteria that causes ulcer.

Bros, kindly stay away from eating beans,pepper and all kind of drinks that contain gas.Continue to drink water,it will help to alleviate the pains but from your description it looks like you have an appendicitis.Kindly see an experienced physician.Above all,have faith in God and all will be well with you.I trust God that your health will return to normalcy.

Lower right iliac fossa pain, I suspect an inflammation of your appendix bro.. I will be worried if UNTH Enugu are not able to detect this, even palpation alone should easily give it away.. Please see a good physician for proper diagnosis.. it is well..

In addition to going for further diagnosis and treatment and praying about it, try making cabbage juice and having a drink of the juice from time to time, it really helped me.

You saw a specialist in Lagos. What is his/her specialty?

I will advise that you go to UNTH. They may be able to refer you accordingly.

The problem in Nigeria is that if a nephrologist resolves a kidney problem, most people will go to him/her for everything (cardiothoracic, pulmonary, etc issues ) outside his specialty.

Never ever trust Nigerian doctors 100% because most of them are very incompetent to be doctors. For me, I don't trust them at all! Many so-called doctors have killed a lot people. In some cases, when you go to a hospital, they misdiagnosis you and treat you for an ailment you're not suffering, while you're dying to to get real treatment! We have the worst hospitals in world!

In order to stay alive in Nigeria when you get sick, research your symptoms by searching via Google. Internet has massive medical info. about symptoms and treatments.

I'm not a doctor, but I saved a relative who visited many Nigerian hospitals but was misdiagnosised. So by searching his symptoms via Google, we were able to diagnose his sickness and gave him the treatment he needed.

Regarding your condition, check Google search result (you can change the search phrase to suit your symptom);

https://www.google.nl/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=i+feel+pain+all+over+my+abdomen

Goodluck.
