PUBLIC AWARENESS

INTRODUCTION
The Nigeria State has been faced with various economic, social, political, educational, and development problems in all sectors of the Nigeria economy. These problems have eventually led to poverty, corruption, kidnapping, unemployment, stealing, terrorism, militancy, and armed robbery amongst others. In other to tackle these challenges facing the nation, The Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Goodluck Ebele Johnathan (GCFR), in March 2010, signed the Local Content Bill into Law. The Local Content Development Act 2010, which aimed at promoting industrialization of the nation’s oil and gas industries and thereby improving the economic and social wellbeing of citizens as engaged in the industries. However, for effective implementation of the Local Content Act, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has a great role to play.

OUR INSPIRATION
The inspiration of creating this department to develop competent manpower for the industry through TVET was drawn from the Local Content Act.
And knowing very well that the Nigeria higher institutions’ graduates do not have the necessary practical skills needed to be employed in the industry, our primary aim here is to impact the skills and experience on trainees thereby bridging the gaps between the experienced workers and non-experienced potential employees.

WHAT WILL I ACHIEVE BY BEING TRAINED HERE?
Unlike the Nigeria school curriculum, our curriculum is designed by experienced and practicing engineers such that its content meets the day to day activities of the various job titles in Instrumentation field. Hence our curriculum is known as the Industrial Instrumentation Work Place Practical Skill Training Guide.
• After the training, trainees should have gotten skills equivalent to 3 to 5 years of experience solely depending on trainees’ willingness and passion.
• You will know how to structure your resume and apply for jobs to get interview calls without anyone’s help.
• When prospective employers request for manpower, you have the advantage of being considered and shortlisted for interviews and possibly employed.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
There are courses for all levels of graduates ranging from SSCE, NCE, OND, HND and Bachelor’s degree of whatsoever field of studies.
In the Nigeria industry, what most employers are looking for is the skills and experience you have gotten through training and working after your formal education irrespective of your initial field of study.
