No, your assertion is not right. There are many kings of Christianity affiliation in Yoruba land. However, there's a saying in our land that a king has no religion, even though he may be of Christianity or Islam background and he's expected to observe traditional religions of his town. In summary, a king belongs to the three religions. That's Oluwo of Iwo, one of the the newly crowned kings in Yoruba land, who was not matured for the throne. This will be the first time in Yoruba land that a king would assume that role. It's alien to our land and culture. And like I raised this issue in a similar post on nairaland, older and experienced kings (e.g. Alaafin, Soun, Alake, Awujale, Olowu, Deji etc) should counsel these miniature kings in the way and manner befitting of their thrones. 1 Like |

Ganiyat72:When did you conduct population census of the s/west to ascertain populations of both religions? From your name, I can deduce that you an illiterate that depends on the weed stuff your Alfas feed you with, as source of info. Even an Islamic Kwara claims 40% Christian population so I wonder where you got your facts from. 30% Christian population is only obtainable in states like Niger, not even in Kaduna, Adamawa, Taraba, Nasarawa. I wouldn't like to join you in your silly argument of Christian-Muslim demography in the s/west, but are you aware there are states in the s/west that are entirely Christian in structure and it's almost impossible for a muslim to govern them the way it's impossible for a Christian to govern Kano state. I'm talking of ondo & ekiti states. Meanwhile, Christians & Muslims have been ruling in other states. That should enlighten your deluded mind in a way. |
