My peeps & fellow geeks, am in a dilemma right now. I've always used windows and I can't say that I love it neither will I say I have it. I know every OS has it's pros and cons but I think the cons in windows can be rather frustrating and annoying sometimes especially with the issue of memory hoging, viruses and many bugs, stability issues plus a host of other problems.
I've handled a mac before but not long enough to know it well. I just want honest opinions from people that've used either the two or both. I currently use a windows vista. There have always been a debate about mac and windows and I think this is the right thread to air your views and let your grieviances be addressed. Your opinions are highly needed cuz they will determine which pc that I will buy next.

Go for what will suit your needs windows, mac or linux.

If you go for mac, virus is limited it is also very fast and efficient but getting mac software in Nigeria is difficult

I don't think getting the softwares will be a problem to me. What I just need is for someone who has used both to clarify me on the pros and cons of a mac. I do store a lot of things on my system so am stressed out by the way windows vista eats my memory despite the fact that all my files are not upto 100gb but my 256 gb harddrive has only 25gb of free space. I wonder if it's the same with mac.

for the guy having your memory eaten up, use updated antiviruses like kaspersky or bitdefender for your system and defragment your system. this may solve yyour problem

Its just different from windows. . .The way things are done. . . i use a Macbook Pro. . .and its preety cool. . . .Whaterver it does, A high end Windows based OS PC/laptop can do. . . But if you want to try something new and sophisticated. . .go for a mac. . .and like someone said ealier. . . .Virus infections is 0.99 probable. . . .U can surf with no palava . . . .as long as u dont watch porn! lol. . ,

Its got some preety cool softwares for music too. . . .

@poster. vista is not an issue anymore if you have sp2, that service pack has made vista very stable, and if you have a capable processor and the right amount of RAM i do not envisage any issues. however, if you want to compare vista and the Mac OS, just google it out.

How do I get the vista sp2 apart from downloading it cuz this is the best piece of news that I've heard in a while.
