Micromax’s sub-brand YU, launched its 3rd 4G budget smartphone YU Yunique for Rs. 4,999. After using it for around 3 days, I can easily say its the best one can get under this price range. Most of the users root their smartphone to install custom ROMs, mostly Cyanogenmod. But, YU phones come with Cyanogenmod pre-installed so installing custom ROMs won’t be the major reason for rooting your YU Yunique. But, except custom ROMs, there are lot more things to do after rooting your YU Yunique like Installing Xposed (Top 10 Xposed modules) or installing Apps which require root access.

REQUIREMENTS
You must have a custom recovery installed on the YU Yunique smartphone before you can use this guide and root the YU smartphone when it is running on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software updates.
The following guide is made for the YU Yunique smartphone. You can use the same version of the SuperSU application to root many other smartphones too, but the custom recovery that is available in this guide is only to be installed on the YU Yunique and therefore following this guide on any other device undoubtedly leads to some trouble.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

We recommend you take at least a second to backup the data on the YU Yunique smartphone so that if the rooting process does not go as planned you are then able to apply a hard reset without having to worry about data loss. A hard reset is a man and woman’s best friend when you find trouble, and unfortunately, they always result in the device getting wiped clean. You can use the NANDroid Backup option from the custom recovery you have installed already, or perhaps you might like something along the lines of the Helium application that is available from the Google Play Store. Helium is the best option until you can install the Titanium Backup app–which allows for complete app backups and is a complete app than Helium–after you finish the guide.
