Please currently there is a disagreement between a couple on who is the biological parent to a child after they divorced over infidelity excuses and I suggested they go for a DNA but we are yet to get an estimated amount we must at least have before approaching any hospital, so I thought it is wise to get information here. Any good contribution that will be necessary as an addition is welcome. Thank you.

I have just communicated with my doctor on phone, he said one should better go to Ikeja General Hospital, Lagos and make enquiry.

He told me he has no cost idea.

Thus, if OP is within Lasgidi, just follow up.

There may not be need for a DNA test cos of the money. If the child is >1year, a simple blood group and genotype test (<N1k) can rule out possible paternity dispute. All the parties involved should go for the test (man, woman and child).
But if the fund is there you go for the main thing. A child must inherit something from the parents genotypically

Well it's because government doesn't place priority on health the reason everything is expensive. Ideally these things should be subsidised or under insurance they'd be less expensive and affordable. Importers get these things at a very expensive rate and can't offer these services at low cost (not good for business).

What a backward society.
