Transportation And Haulage Business Forum (lets Meet) by Nobody: 4:16pm On Aug 09, 2016
Welcome to this wonderful forum where we are going to discuss a business that is not new to Nigerians and the world at large.
This forum is setup to bring together like minds and transportation business enthusiasts who can partner with me to setup this wonderful transportation initiative which I believe is rare in Nigeria.
We all know Transportation business in Nigeria is a very lucrative business which no doubt is the most diversified. From history this business has been in existence from time immemorial and has shown that it will continue to exist so long as man moves from one place to the other
Let me start by giving you a little insight about my experience in transportation and haulage industry.
I have worked with an oil and gas servicing company (2006-2009) handling the position of a transport officer where we convey materials from base to the various company sites,(contracts which we oftentimes outsource to private haulage companies. Seeing the huge resources involved in this transport section aroused my passion for the business even though my dad owned a failed transport business back then.
After my contract job expiration I saved up and bought an isolated body 10-tons truck which I used to start a trucking business in 2009. Due to my inexperience in the hostile business environment of Nigeria and bad management decisions, the business folded up after 3 years but I will not fail to mention that I learnt a lot during this trying period and it added to my wealth of experience in this business.
I had to settle down and began a proper research on transportation business and luckily I also got employed in a federal government agency that is the custodian and regulator of transportation and safety (where I still work till date). This got me into different departments and sections that gave me another broader view of the industry as a whole and I have been fortunate to attend trainings in different countries and I must say it has been worthwhile.
Fast-forward to 2016, I have been in the industry for up to a decade and I understand the business to my finger tips both locally and internationally. I have written my business plan on a REVOLUTIONARY TRANSPORTATION BUSINESS MANAGEMENT. This business plan is based on almost a 5 years research.
I will not waste time to begin to analyze my plan here but on request from any interested partners.
This business plan takes particular interest on drivers and vehicle maintenance management which is the life line of any transportation business.
In view of the huge challenges associated with transportation business in Nigeria wherein a lot of investors have gotten their fingers burnt, it has become very imperative to seek alternative strategies to manage and guarantee return on investment in the transportation sector. This necessitated my introduction of the Intelligence Transport Management System (ITMS) in managing fleets after an intensive research. The ITMS, a cutting-edge technology operational module used for vehicle tracking, monitoring and transport business management. It will be focusing on the general public that needs transport services and for business that needs trucking service. Both groups will likely demand our services. The public will utilize the service because it is convenient and less expensive than the regular transportation services already existing and business owners will use us because it offers reliable trucking services you will not find anywhere else.

This business initiative will also be offering a lease drive service where a customer can lease a car from us and drive his or herself around town.
The business will easily gain market share by utilizing their competitive advantages which are based on a sophisticated, yet purposeful, incentive system for the drivers. The system incentivizes driver behavior to build new clients, turn one-time clients into long-term customers, positive feedback and develop a team atmosphere among the employees in the company

OBJECTIVE
For the first three years of operation include we shall be focusing on the following:
• To redefine and guarantee safety of vehicle, lower risk and good Return on Investment.
• To create a service-based company whose primary goal is to exceed customer's expectations.
• To increase the customer base by 20% per year.
• To develop a sustainable start-up business.
The intelligent Transport Management system (ITMS) solution is the core secret of this initiative which no transportation company in the country currently practices.
Services offered shall include but not limited to:
 Trucking and Haulage
 Coaster Bus shuttle Services
 Executive Cab Service
 Lease Drive Service and vehicle out sourcing
 Fleet Management.
THE BUSINESS PLAN
This business plan is divided into 2 sections
a. The Transportation Business Management section
b. The Vehicle Maintenance Management section
The business plan is structured to start up in different segments based on the available resources expected to cater for the following:
 Office space and furnishing
 Data base design and implementation
 Mobile apps development
 Computer work station
 Functional website with online booking
 Marketing campaign
 Project vehicle
 Take-off staff emoluments
FINANCIALS
This transport business management module is designed to manage not less than 5,000 fleets across Nigeria to generate revenue of over 100 million naira annually and essentially create thousands of jobs. Details are available.
I will welcome questions and contributions please.
