Why is Instagram not using FLAG_KEEP_SCREEN_ON( on android) while watching videos? is so annoying when you are washing a video and the screen just goes Off .why cant they just keep the screen awake until when the video is over

If you look at how Instagram was designed, you'll see that it was carefully designed, let some bad coded apps run the kind of operation running in background on Instagram App, you'll see your battery level droping drastically, allthough not using this flag affects the UX, but not as much as it will be affected if the flag was used. I think its just one of the technique they employed to save battery power.

that's true though. bt wat if they
programmatically set the flag in the activity which gives
them the option of clearing the
flag later maybe using windows manager and thereby allowing the screen to turn
off again after the video
