POLICE ARREST TWO NIGERIAN ATM SCAMMERS AT EAST PARK MALL IN LUSAKA. TWO Nigerian nationals have been arrested for attempting to dismount a gadget on an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at a named bank at East park shopping mall in Lusaka. Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says the two were arrested yesterday around 15:00hrs after being found at an ATM of a named bank after attempting to dismount a gadget on the machine they had mounted. He says the two have been identified as Hefeez Citileye and Chris Umeh, both aged 32 years and residents of Kaunda Square. "We conducted a search at their residence where we recovered a laptop, various computer accessories and plain ATM cards," he says. Hamoonga says the two suspects are currently detained in police custody. He has since warned foreign nationals visiting Zambia that this country is only a heaven of peace and not for committing crimes. "As police, we shall swiftly arrest and prosecute persons coming in the country with intentions of committing crimes," says Hamoonga. He further says police have information indicating that one of the two suspects came in the country a few days ago under the pretex that he was coming to marry a Zambian woman.
