Former executive committee member of world soccer governing body, FIFA, Dr Amos Adamu has predicted doom for the Super Eagles under the tutelage of new technical adviser, Gernot Rohr.

The France-born German tactician recently signed a two-year contract worth $47,000 a month to lead the Eagles through the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, but Adamu believes Rohr is not good enough.

The former Togo, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic handler will get his debut in an inconsequential AFCON qualifier against Tanzania come September 3 in Uyo, after which he will face the Russia 2018 qualifiers, beginning with an October 3 clash away to Zambia.

While Nigeria soccer lovers are eagerly looking forward to what Rohr will offer, Adamu has already shot a look ahead of what to expect and often controversial sports administrator, fondly called ‘Mr Fix-it,’ has categorically stated that Rohr will damage the Eagles before walking away.

Adamu also questioned how the 63-year-old coach was recruited by the leadership of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), but said he does not expect the body’s president, Amaju Pinnick to resign, due to a litany of failures by the national teams.

Adamu, who was sole administrator of Nigeria Football Association (NFA) when the country first qualified for the World Cup at USA ‘94, said Rohr does not have the pedigree to handle the Eagles and stressed that the coach is doomed to fail.

“He does not have the pedigree, I don’t know him. For now, we do not have a coach. He will just damage us and then he will leave.

“(Amaju) should take responsibility for his action, but it won’t happen. Who will enforce? Who is in that ministry to enforce it? It is not in our culture to resign even if it is the right thing to do.

“We are also suffering from a culture of poverty and so people asking for him to resign will be bought over and before you know it, they will be singing a different song,” Adamu told Hot FM Abuja.
